Scaffolds, ladders, levels and other accessories

Working on ladders can be dangerous and accidents do happen: in order to increase safety, a few simple rules should be followed:

The ladder should be leaned at an angle of fifteen degrees since steeper angle can cause the ladder to topple backwards while shallower angle can cause the ladder to slip
When working on ladders, work that imposes side loading should be avoided
Carrying items when climbing a ladder should be avoided and tool belts used instead
Additional safety devices against slipping, falling, or overloading should be used when appropriate
